Meth Addiction

Methamphetamine addiction is a growing problem in the United States. If you have a loved one who is addicted, you need all the information you can get.

This is from the website: Meth Addiction

"Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant that affects the Central Nervous System. It has a very high potential for abuse. It is most regularly smoked or injected and is also snorted or taken orally. When the user injects or smokes the drug an intense but brief high results. If the user has snorted or taken the drug orally (by capsule) a longer lasting high is the result rather than a brief rush. Two forms of methamphetamine are dominant throughout the United States:

Crystal methamphetamine has a clear or translucent crystalline appearance, while common meth can range from a yellowish powder to reddish, blue or green in color.

Pain and Drugs

Many people become addicted to painkillers when using them to address certain pain conditions. With proper medical treatment, many of these people could have avoided the drug that they eventually became addicted to.

Some positive treatments for pain besides pain killers include the following:

The Egoscue Method by Pete Egoscue - for back and shoulder pain

Guaifenesin by Dr. St. Amand - for fibromyalgia

Reverse Shoulder Prothesis by Dr. Mark A. Mighell

Diabetes Treatments including vitamins for diabetes

Drugs and Birth

I am an advocate for gentle, drug-free birthing. I understand that in some cases, intervention is really necessary, and in other cases, the mother is not dealing well with the pain and needs help. However, for the most part, the less "extra" intervention done during birth, the better.

Here are some good resources about drug-free, natural birthing:
